IEEE & ECSE BBQ, Monash University
The IEEE Victorian Monash Student Branch held their first BBQ event for the year at Monash University. The event was held under the IEEE & ECSE department name. The event went well and was attended by approximately 100 people. Thank you all for supporting the IEEE Monash Branch.

Hooper Memorial Prize, La Trobe University
The 17th Hooper Memorial 4th year Student Project Presentations held on 4 December 2009 at the La Trobe University, Department of Electronic Engineering. The IEEE prize for Technical Innovation and Engineering Achievement was awarded to Peter Devlin for his project "Autonomous Quadrotor Helicopter". Unfortunately Peter was not able to attend, all the photos feature his supervisor Robert Ross -- Robert Slaviero (Signal Processing Chapter, Chair)

IEEE Students & Young Professionals Dinner
The dinner took place on Thursday, 23rd April, 2009. It was a great night for GOLD, WIE and all student chapters. Following the dinner Mr. Rob Slaviero (Managing Director, Analog Devices Australia) addressed the attendees. He talked about the current job market, DOs and DONTs in the workplace in different times of the career and encouraged everyone to expand their knowledge of business and commerce to complement engineering processes. Following the talk, awards were given to IEEE RMIT chapters for their outstanding work in 2008. Finally, students who will graduate in 2009 were given an IEEE career toolkit (STEP) in order to explore the next steps after graduation -- Arif Jubaer (Melbourne University Student Branch, Chair)
