On May 30th, the IEEE Victorian Section CIS Chapter hosted its second event, named FLICT – FLirt with ICT, which was held at Federation University Australia, Mt Helen Campus. The aim of this event was

  • to inform students of the membership benefits of IEEE and more particularly CIS;
  • to encourage FedUni students to step forward and volunteer for IEEE;
  • to establish an IEEE student branch at FedUni;
  • to give students insights into industry and academia engagements; and
  • to connect students with local industries (ICSL and IBM) and inform them of available graduate/internship opportunities.

The event was live-streamed to China. Twenty-six people attended the event and there were eleven online viewers.
