The Altium Designer was held on the Thursday 3rd of May 2012 in the Beth Gleeson Building between 5:00 – 8:00 pm. The tutorial is part of a much larger pilot program being launched by the IEEE which plans to bring one tutorial per month for the entire of 2012. The altium tutorial was attended by 24 students (maximum capacity). As part of the tutorial participants each had their own workstation allowing them to design a schematic and then layout a PCB under the guidance of demonstrators. The 3 hour session was broke up into 3 parts; Session 1 – Schematics (5:00pm to 6:30pm); Session 2 -Food and Drinks Break (6:30pm to 7:00pm) and Session 3 –
PCB layouts (7:00pm to 8:00pm).
The IEEE and ESOLU would like to thank the following people for their assistance during this tutorial: Eddie Custovic, Alex Stumpf, Golnar Khomami, Shavi Nachman, Clarence Goh, Selva Murugesan, Steven Wang and most of all the presenter Arun Borgio.
