The electronic poster competition was organized to encourage undergraduate and postgraduate students in electrical and mechanical engineering to showcase their final year research projects. This is the first time IEEE IAS Deakin SB chapter has organized this activity and we expect to organize this again during September/October this year. We had 7 participants who presented on topics relevant to microgrids, electric vehicles, energy market operation and many more. The posters were presented using display screens instead of hard copy, so that students can use this feedback to improve their presentation. 5 academic staff (who are also members of IEEE IAS) have helped with assessing the posters based on visual quality, technical contents and the students’ ability to articulate their research. Other students also participated as audience to encourage their peers and to learn from these research projects. The best poster award is given to Ajith Nambiar Veettil for his poster on “Energy Management of AC/DC Hybrid Microgrid”.
